Employment with Scally's Tree Service LLC is on an at-will basis, which means either the employee or the company can terminate employment at any time, with or without cause or notice, in accordance with Rhode Island state law. This handbook does not constitute a contract of employment. Employment at Scally’s Tree Service LLC is at-will and may be terminated at any time, with or without cause or notice, by either the employee or the company.

All new employees are subject to a **90 (business) day probationary period**. During this time, your performance, reliability, and overall fit with the company will be assessed. Scally's Tree Service LLC reserves the right to terminate employment at any time during the probationary period if performance does not meet expectations.

Standard Work Week: Monday through Friday, starting at **7:00AM** each day unless otherwise stated.

Occasional Saturdays: Some work on Saturdays may be necessary as determined by business needs. These are required work days.

Snow Work: This is a mandatory condition of employment, and you agree to be available and on call 24/7, including all holidays. Your supervisor will give as much notice as possible leading up to winter weather events. When unexpected winter weather events occur, you must make all personal arrangement to be available as soon as possible.

The hourly wage for this position is **$26.00 per hour**, paid **weekly**. Overtime may be required.

Tree Season: Employees are expected to arrive at the shop **on time** and be ready to work at the start of the workday. This means you are at the shop and clocked in by 7:00AM. Do not clock in before you arrive to the shop.

Tardiness: Repeated tardiness will be addressed by your supervisor and will result in disciplinary action or termination.

Time Tracking & Job Management: We use Jobber to manage employee hours and to share job details. You will be set up in the app to clock in and out. You’re required to keep accurate clock in and out records. All missed clock in or out must be immediately reported to your supervisor.

It is required that you check in with your supervisor before clocking out for the day to confirm the day’s work is complete. You are required to familiarize yourself with your assignments listed in Jobber to ensure you leave the yard with all necessary tools, equipment, fuel, and trucks for the day.

Absences: must be reported to your supervisor at least 48-hours in advance so jobs can be rescheduled as needed. Failure to report an absence may result in disciplinary action or termination. We realize the unexpected is possible and will work with you to accommodate your schedule change. You must give your supervisor immediate notice.

Worksite Safety: Safety is our top priority. Employees must adhere to all safety protocols and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Conduct: Professional behavior is always expected. Harassment, discrimination, or any other inappropriate behavior toward supervisors, peers, customers, or the general public will not be tolerated.

We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, genetic information, military/veteran status, or any other status protected by federal or Rhode Island law.

Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace: Scally's Tree Service LLC maintains a drug and alcohol￾free workplace. The use of alcohol and/or illegal substances during work hours is strictly prohibited.

Fuel cards are provided in each company vehicle and are to remain in the vehicle at all times. These cards are strictly for fueling company vehicles only.

Personal use of fuel cards is strictly prohibited.

Employees are not permitted to use company fuel cards for personal vehicles or any non-company-related purchases. Any misuse of a fuel card, including removal from the vehicle or use for personal purposes, will result in immediate termination.

A valid driver’s license is required at the time of hire for any employee operating a company vehicle. If your license becomes suspended, revoked, or otherwise invalid at any point during your employment, you must notify your supervisor immediately. Failure to report issues with your driver’s license may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

Voluntary Termination: Employees wishing to resign are requested to provide at least two weeks' notice and to complete/sign the Employee Voluntary Resignation Form.

Involuntary Termination: Scally's Tree Service LLC reserves the right to terminate employment for performance issues, violations of company policies, or other reasons as per Rhode Island employment law.

Final Pay: Employees who are terminated will receive all earned wages within 24 hours, in compliance with Rhode Island law. Employees who voluntarily resign will receive their final paycheck on the next regular payday, unless otherwise required by law.
